2011 – 2012
Founding member of the Mosireen collective, a non-profit media activism collective for the purpose of documenting the events during and after the 2011 Egyptian Revolution. The collective provides free training, technical support, equipment and a library, as well as organizing public screenings, open discussions and events.
Member of OPANTISH, an activist group whose goal was to prevent sexual harassment and assault, and in particular the mass sexual harassment that occurs during protests. The group is known for intervening in assaults by mobs in Cairo’s Tahrir square and is one of several that have begun to organize against sexual harassment of women in Tahrir since the 2011 revolution.
